Individuals are always needed on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Please note that all individual volunteers must submit an online application, undergo a background check (an email link will be sent), interview with the Director of Development, complete any required BGCA training, and read & sign our Volunteer Handbook before placement.
Program Support: Whether it be tutoring, reading, arts & crafts, dance lessons, STEM activities, gym time, or any of our other enrichment-based activities, our staff can always use some help. Volunteers can support our core programs in Academic Success, Character and Leadership Development, Healthy Lifestyles, and Workforce Development.
Athletics / Sports / Coaching: Empower our youth to be physically active and healthy. Support athletic activities and promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.
Arts and Crafts: Lead our youth through various arts, activities and lessons, including painting, drawing, photography, digital media, and more! Share your individual talents and expertise with a group of young aspiring artists.
Character and Leadership Development: Support our staff in programs that promote character and leadership development for our Club members. Help our Club members to cultivate positive and healthy social-emotional skills related to self-esteem, healthy relationships, emotional regulation, and problem-solving.
Events: Help at BGCRRVOK community events, leading Club members and families through activities, running concessions, game booths and tables and assisting with event set-up and clean-up. Event examples include: Spring Basketball, Color Run, and Crystal Ball Gala.
Power Hour Tutoring: Assist Club members with homework during daily “Power Hour” sessions. Work with students toward the accurate completion of homework assignments, the improvement of academic skills and confidence, and/or test preparation. Motivate and encourage students to excel in academics.
STEM Education: Engage Club members in learning experiences that support awareness, engagement, and interest in STEM. Empower young people to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills that are critical to success in the STEM workforce and beyond. Examples include: coding, robotics, natural sciences, engineering, and more!
Teen Program: BGCRRVOK’s teen programs provide a safe and positive space for our Club teens to have fun, learn, and grow. Volunteers would support our teens during after-school and summer hours.
Workforce Development: The Workforce Development program provides our Club members with opportunities to explore careers and develop the holistic skills needed for future success. As a volunteer, you would help develop the knowledge, skills, and learning experiences needed to succeed in life and work. Examples include: resume writing, interview preparation, career exploration, college readiness, and more!
